splinters of a 'Global Moment' of change [ a collective display ]

The ‚post-2011' events – from Tahrir and so-called ‚Arab Spring' to Taksim, from Occupy to the Indignados' challenged the sometimes simplistic narratives of the ‚post-911' world. What linked the events in this cycle of struggles was not organizational coherence but rather a shared global sentiment, a sentiment for overdue change, mediated by a new form of global sensorium. While after 2011 there were some attempts to decipher these "signs from the future," as Žižek has put it, now in 2015 it seems that the "global moment" has ended. It's time for a reflective turn"; one looking at deeper strata of social change visions and tectonics.
– We did that around 'Anxious to Act' (transmediale) with a collective display that was asking different curatorial activists to embark on a mission of joining relevant fragments – to re-trace the 'images from the future' stemming from 2011, under the perspective of the (more grim) 2016 situation.
